About Me

I am studying Biological Sciences at the University of Brighton after finishing 6th Form at Poole Grammar School with 3 A-levels in Biology, Psychology, and Physics, as well as an AS-level in Business Studies.

Having spent 12 months as a volunteer English teacher in South-East Asia for students of a range of ages and abilities, I have developed teaching and communication skills, as well as developing my independence and resilience.

Aspirin Business Solutions Ltd.

Management of the digital public face of the company, via creation of websites and marketing videos and materials. Other work has included organising company accounts and VAT returns.

May 2017 - July 2017

Honour Village, Cambodia

Volunteer teaching in a school/orphanage in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Creating lesson plans and games designed to teach English skills to children 6 to 18.

August 2016 - May 2017

MRSM Tun Ghazali Shafie, Malaysia

Volunteer English teacher in a boarding school in Malaysia, providing guidance in English speaking abilities to students 13 and 18. I created lesson plans, teaching grammatical skills and vocabulary development.

Sept 2015 - March 2016

McDonald's, Poole

Working as part of a team in a high-pressure environment, serving customers and preparing food, as well as keeping the restaurant clean and tidy, including hygiene and basic health and safety.

Studying Biological Sciences degree at undergraduate level, performing technical laboratory work solo and in groups, alongside performing research and writing scientific papers.

Achievements & Interests

August 2016 - July 2017

MRSM TGS, Malaysia, 9.5 Months | Honour Village, Cambodia, 1.5 Months

I undertook volunteering work in both schools, where I was in charge of classes of a range of sizes from 6 to 30 pupils, from all ages between 6 and 18.
I was required to plan and carry out hour long lessons, as well as organise the playroom in the school in Cambodia, where children would come to play between classes.

Gold level skiing award with Ecole du Ski Francais.

Active member of an off-road cycling club, the Dorset Rough Riders.


Skills

Coding: HTML, CSS, and Javascript for website design and creation, as well as a basic knowledge of the use of Python 3 for creation of computer programs and data analysis.

Adobe Creative Cloud: Proficiency in several aspects of the Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Lightroom CC, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.

General Computing: Strong IT skills in a variety of software, including Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.

Other: Advanced numerical ability stemming from experience with sciences, further maths, computing and business studies.
